For almost two centuries DTU, Technical University of Denmark, has been dedicated to fulfilling the vision of H.C. Ørsted – the father of electromagnetism – who founded the university in 1829 to develop and create value using the natural sciences and the technical sciences to benefit society. As one of the foremost technical universities in Europe DTU persistently increases and develops partnerships with industry both internationally and nationally. By using RealSite to manage present and future architectural competitions, situated within the Campus area in Lyngby, DTU is able to facilitate the communication and design negotiations between users, designers and developers - taking yet another step to fulfilling the vision. The 3D-model in RealSite is however more than a mere design validation tool and is already being used as the foundation for master thesis and bachelor studies at DTU. The interactive model of DTU serves as proof for how professional communication in the building industry can be optimized through contemporary virtual technology. RealSite is developed by Utopian City_Scape as a spatial structured engine for developing, publishing and experiencing 3D-models and environments.
